The Deutsche Oper Berlin is one of the leading opera houses of the world. But like all operas it needs friends who actively contribute to the high quality of its daily performances. And this is what the Patrons of the Deutsche Oper stand for. In recent years, the patrons donated a concert shell and a Steinway grand piano and made possible the building of the Götz-Friedrich-Platz in front of the restaurant. Every year they contribute to highly-praised performances and support four scholarships for young and promising singers. Of course, the members of the Patrons of the Deutsche Oper also enjoy many advantages:

• They are part of a lively network and can get together in an informal atmosphere
• They can meet with singers, musicians and stage designers
• They can talk to prompters, stage technicians, tailors, choir directors and many other interesting colleages at the opera
• They can visit rehearsals at different stages of the production and get house tours to unusual places behind the stage
• They get newsletters with all the relevant news
• They are invited to the exclusive dinners on stage and in interesting locations
• When performances are sold out, they still can get tickets on a short-time basis
