The Reconstruction of Dore Hoyer’s ‘Affectos Humanos’
The appropriation of historical movement material such as Dore Hoyer’s ‘Affectos Humanos’ is an independent cognitive process, which Susanne Linke and Martin Nachbar reflect upon. Although human movement seems to be universal and timeless, some artists and audiences have experienced temporal distance. Some movements and gestures may seem overly emotional today or may simply no longer be physically reconstructible due to a lack of the appropriate training.
