On the Function of the Image in Artistic Research Practice

How are artists currently thinking about the “image” in its relation to language and movement in the performing arts? What types of research processes do they engage in? The coalition of Artistic Research Theory and Innovation and Amsterdam Masters of Choreography from the Amsterdam School of the Arts will host a salon framed within current discourse on artistic research practices. By way of performative lectures, artists and choreographers will share their research methods and most recent stage experiments, in which “images” play a role as representations, animations, objects, and meanings.
